Mosiah 4

There's a lot I could cover in Mosiah 4. Many truths and depths I could explore.

One is that I should come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men (6). Basically, get to know God. Learn about my Father in Heaven and build a relationship with him.

James E. Faust in the October 1976 General Conference, gave a talk entitled "A Personal Relationship with the Savior." He gave us five steps to build such a relationship:

  1. A daily communion involving prayer.
  2. A daily selfless service to another.
  3. A daily striving for an increased obedience and perfection in our lives.
  4. A daily acknowledgment of His divinity.
  5. A daily study of the scriptures.
Later on in the chapter, we are told we should have a remembrance of the greatness of God, and our own nothingness (11). How good and patient he is with us. We should humble ourselves even to the depths of humility, and call upon the name of the Lord, and stand steadfastly in Christ's actions of the atonement that was done for all of us.

When we do so we will realign our will with God's will, and we will be great instruments for him. We will become a people who edify one another and strengthen each other in the Lord, as well as helping each other out in mortality. Supporting one another.

We need to keep an eye on ourselves; watch our thoughts, what we say, our actions. We should observe and keep the commandments of God (30). Be aware of these things and correct our mistakes immediately. Keep our will in alignment with God's.
