Moroni 6

I love Moroni 6. It shows how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church from the one Jesus Christ organized among the ancient people long ago.

To be baptized, they needed a broken heart and a contrite spirit. They witnessed unto the church they truly repented. They took upon them the name of Christ. They had a determination to serve Christ to the end (2-3). All of us who have been baptized by the authority of God need to remember what we have promised to do.

Once baptized and confirmed, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ that they might be "remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith" (4). In these days, you become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by being baptized and confirmed. Once a member, the names are entered into the church records so that they might be taught further by God's words. Baptism is not the end. It's a step in the right direction. We continue to take steps towards God; we know where to go and how to take those steps because of the teachings taught us. If we were baptized and then figured that was it, that does not show the "determination to serve Christ to the end" (3).

In ancient times, Christ organized the church to meet together often, to both fast and pray, "to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls," to have the sacrament. Their meetings were conducted after the manner of the workings of the Spirit: the Holy Ghost led them to preach, to exhort, to pray, to supplicate, or to sing (5-6, 9). Today, in the restored church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we have three hours of church on Sunday to partake of the Sacrament, to pray, to sing, to exhort, to preach. Once a month we have a Fast and Testimony Meeting (the first Sunday of every month). Although members fast other days as well. Plus, testimonies are always shared through lessons. Teachers and speakers prepare and try to teach by the Spirit and be led in knowing what they should share and how. We try to strengthen each other. We try to learn from each other. We try to grow in righteousness. We try to remember God and have Christ be the center of our lives.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. It's divinely organized. It's under His direction. Christ's church has been restored. You've found it. You can attend. People will welcome you. To find the nearest building go to THIS site and enter the address you are at. It will find you the nearest building and the time the first meeting on Sunday is. People will love for you to come. If you want to know more about the church and what it teaches, Meet with the Missionaries (go to THIS OTHER site). They'll be more than happy to help. I think you'll be amazed at the people you meet.
